The 2009 edition of the Oregon 1000 will venture into Central Oregon rather than the southern coast as previous events have done.Staying true to its name, the route will once again cover 1000 kilometers of some of the best rally roads Oregon has to offer.As Round 2 of the 2009 Pacific Coast Challenge (PCC), the 2009 version of the Oregon 1000 will contain significantly more unpaved roads than previous editions.
Sticking with tradition, the Oregon 1000 uses a run/work control procedure, where each competitor takes a turn at working controls during the event.This helps us keep costs down, while allowing more competitors to join the fun.
We’ve reserved a block of 20 rooms at the Prineville Best Western for $70/night plus tax (roughly $77 total), which includes a hot continental breakfast on Sunday morning at the Apple Peddler located next door to the Best Western.When you call (541-447-8080) tell them you are with the “Oregon 1000” to get this rate.There are a couple of other options in town, but we’ve not made any arrangements with them.
The 2009 Oregon 1000 will once again start in the Portland metro area, exact location still being worked on… if the sponsorship comes through we’ll start there, if not we’ll start somewhere else... from there we will wander south and east over the Cascade’s to Prineville for the mid-rally dinner and party.Sunday morning will be another early start with the finish near HoodRiver.
Entry fee for the weekend is $195 for teams where both contestants are ORG/SCCA members.Non-member teams will be charged an additional $15 to cover the cost of an SCCA weekend membership.For mixed teams, the extra fee is $5. Your entry includes lunch and dinner on both Saturday and Sunday.
Awards will be presented to the top three teams in each of three classes (Equipped, Limited, and Stock) for the weekend.
